Mambray Creek Campground
The Mambray Creek campground in South Australia has recently gone through a major $2.5M upgrade to improve “the camping experience for a whole variety of visitors while not losing the magic appeal of this much-loved campground” (Danny Doyle, National Parks and Wildlife Service Southern Flinders and Mid North District Ranger) Located in Mount Remarkable National Park and attracting around 11,000 bookings annually, the site's aging amenities was in need of rejuvenation.
How we helped
In collaboration with the South Australian Department Of Environment & Water, we installed two custom Yarra buildings with accessible shower blocks and a separate toilet block for day visitors. The design focused on blending with the forest while ensuring durability. Features included "wood look" louvre slats for a natural feel and low maintenance, and Solar Lighting Kits and LED lights to reduce energy use.
Danny Doyle highlighted the improved amenities, noting that:
“Visitors can enjoy fantastic campground amenities, including new bathroom facilities where they can even enjoy a hot shower on crisp early mornings.”
